Rules & categories
Save a category once and apply it to matching past and future transactions.
Choose a category or type a new one. Rules match the normalized merchant exactly. For example, THE HOME DEPOT #7003 and Home Depot both become HOME DEPOT. We uppercase names and remove leading “THE”, card/payment prefixes, web/country tokens, and store-number suffixes. Known marketplace formats retain their storefront, such as AMAZON.CA and AMZN MKTP CA.

Removing a category removes its rules, returns matching non-excluded transactions to review, and prevents this household from receiving that default suggestion in future imports.

Accounts are invitation-only and require an authenticator app. Household owners can invite a family member by email; Cognito sends the one-time setup invitation.
Raw statements
A successfully parsed CSV is deleted immediately. Failed or abandoned uploads expire within seven days. Your reviewed transactions remain in your household until you delete them.
